Reporting to the System Vice President, Safe Choice & Employee Health, the System Director of Employee Health is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing an Employee Health Program that strategically aligns with the overall business objectives of Baylor Scott & White Health. Strategizes, develops and leads the implementation of effective processes to optimize operational efficiencies of the Employee Health Department.
Develops supports and retains a cohesive professional team.
Supports the professional staff selection process to attract and retain the personnel needed to consistently demonstrate appropriate technical expertise, maturity and professional commitment to excellence so that the department has the necessary talent to accomplish the day to day business goals.
Provides proper coaching and guidance to enhance their growth potential in the organization including technical resources and educational training.
Establishes and monitors departmental goals and objectives to align with BSWH strategic goals and strategies.
Institutes mentoring relations for key employees and supports their participation in the development of succession and training plans for critical positions.
Provides guidance and assistance to staff and other functional areas.
Oversees the payroll, performance management, hiring, promoting, corrective action, development plans and performance improvement and all other personnel decisions.
Provides leadership and direction in the creation of a culture of safety and health within the system that reduces operating expenditures for the financial impact to the organization.
Develops and monitors all department capital and operating expenses to ensure that actual expenditures are consistent with the established annual budget.
Establishes annual budget expenditures for operations and program projections with review and attestation to all monthly and quarterly reports.
COORDINATES SYSTEM WIDE EMPLOYEE HEALTH PROGRAM.
Works collaboratively with all entities to standardize Employee Health processes.
Assures Employee Health processes addresses system-wide needs and priorities.
Reviews protocols and processes on a periodic basis to assure processes remain current and responsive to organizational needs.
MAINTAIN COMPLIANCE WITH NATIONAL STANDARDS, REGULATORY AGENCIES AND INTERNAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
Reviews Employee Health processes to assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinates activities with other departments (Human Resources, Legal/Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control) to maintain compliance with state, national, and regulatory standards, i.e., EEOC, OSHA, CDC, CMS, JC, etc., and internal policies and procedures.
Coordinates systems for data collection and reporting to various internal and external groups as related to Employee Health issues.
Assures active department participation in quality measures.
Coordinates regularly scheduled Employee Health meetings for provision of services, standardization, exchange of information and planning activities.
Reviews current standards and recommendations from appropriate professional organizations and modifies or changes policies, procedures, processes as indicated.
Utilizes Continuous Learning and Improvement Process tools to focus on process issues contributing to Employee Health improvement opportunities.
Performs other position duties as required in a competent, professional, timely and considerate manner.

Serves as knowledgeable and available resource for Employee Health practices.
Bachelor’s required, Master’s preferred
5+ years Employee/Occupational Health related experience preferred
