Reporting to the Managing Director, Strategy and Planning, the Associate Director, Strategy and Account Management will support key University-wide IT initiative in several ways. The Associate Director will lead the account management function, overseeing a staff of three full-time account managers, and working across HUIT to set a future vision for the group.
The Associate Director will also support University-wide IT planning processes, including the University IT strategic plan and University Research Computing strategic plan.
Finally, the Associate Director will lead a variety of projects, helping to define goals, facilitate stakeholders, conduct research and manage implementation. Example projects include:
Managing the execution of the University Research Computing Strategic plan by staffing working groups, managing Research Computing Council Executive Committee and full Research Computing Council agendas. Helping to gather and synthesize information and articulating interim milestones and goals. Supporting partnerships with other Universities, as needed
Facilitating the development of University policies on access to systems. Help develop stakeholder groups and engagement, gather and synthesize information; develop and oversee work plans and interim milestones
The successful candidate will work with independence to develop clear goals and priorities, set milestones, deliver results in a timely manner, and engage key constituents across the University to maximize communication, transparency, and commitment to projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Projects will vary, but may include:
Leading account management function including working with HUIT colleagues and stakeholders to set priorities, managing a team of three direct reports and supporting partnerships across HUIT.
Leading all planning and development related to specific initiatives including: planning and strategy working groups and committees; the development and oversight of project plans, timelines and implementation strategies; the conception and coordination of events; and preparing complex materials for leadership review.
Managing and implementing various University-wide planning activities, including the development of the University IT strategic plan. Duties may include conducting stakeholder interviews, preparation of agenda and briefing materials, producing meeting reports, establishing communication channels within and about the planning process, tracking and completing meeting follow up.
Conducting research and analysis, and preparing presentations, memos and reports for a range of constituents, including University leadership.

BA or BS required
6-8 years of related work experience to include facilitative leadership
Master's degree and/or experience in consulting role preferred
Demonstrated ability to drive work on multiple efforts simultaneously, in a fast-paced, complex work environment, with a diverse population of administrators and faculty
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills, including the ability to coordinate and lead meetings with senior University administrators
Strong analytical skills with an ability to gather and synthesize information and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data
Willingness and ability to undertake tasks from organizing materials to strategic planning and everything in between
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proven track record in building consensus among various constituencies
Strong commitment to teamwork
