This position supports both the VA Longitudinal Undergraduate Medical Education (VALUE) clerkship specifically and all longitudinal integrated clerkships (LICs) at the University of Minnesota Medical School more broadly. The VALUE Coordinator/All LIC Coordinator has a dual reporting relationship to the VALUE Clerkship Directors and to the Director of Integrated Education - Clinical Science.
Value Program Coordination (50%)
Coordinate meetings with the course directors of the specialty rotations including reserving conference room space as necessary, preparing agendas/meetings minutes and assuring that information is made available to all participants
Developing, coordinating and maintaining medical students’ schedules and meetings.
Assist with curricular design, implementation, and evaluation of the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (VALUE)
Assist in assessing programmatic outcomes and collect and collate data.
Develop/revise surveys and other tools for evaluation.
Collect and analyze outcome data and present to the leaders of the program.
Assist in assessing VALUE learner (student) outcomes.
Coordinate evaluation of students’ performance via several evaluation instruments developed.
Distribute and collect feedback forms
Collect and assist in analyzing student performance data.
Support the program director in designing and revising assessment/milestone measures/instruments
Data management (capture, collate, analyze, and prepare reports)
Serve as the main point of contact for VALUE-specific questions from the students or the University
Manage programmatic logistics such as recruitment, and match meeting.
Create strategic plan with implementation plan and timeline
Create and maintain a SharePoint site for the LIC students
Assist stakeholders with organizing and analyzing data from LIC student studies
Assist in presenting results of the project
Assist with preparation of results for publication and presentation at national meetings
All LIC Coordination (50%)
First point of contact for LIC coordinators, direct questions to appropriate departments
Coordinate and host LIC Coordinator Meetings
invite interested parties to present at LIC coordinator meetings
take and distributes notes from LIC meetings
Create, gather input on, and revise LIC proposals and policies
takes finalized proposals to administration for action
curate a library of LIC policies
develop templates and policies for LIC operations
Identify where a standardized process would be useful and propose process
Assist in collecting and disseminating best practices for teaching LIC students
Work with Clinical Program Manager to coordinate LIC and Block coordinator meetings
Work with Clinical Education Associate to update and organize LIC Canvas courses
Work with Director of Integrated Education - Clinical Science to implement LIC wide policy and process change
Work with All LIC curriculum manager to implement and disseminate curricular changes\
Salary Range: $17.31 to $29.10 USD/hour
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
High school diploma/GED and five years related experience. Coursework in a related field may be substituted for some years of experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Advanced computer skills/experience with Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Google Suite
Experience with data analysis using standard statistical packages
Project management skills
Ability to work flexibility, at two work sites (Twin Cities Campus and the VA Hospital)
