The EI&C Technician is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of all power plant controls and instrumentation; including motors, UPS and DC battery systems, controllers and transmitters. Responsibilities include inspection, repair and maintenance of the DCS and PLC’s, calibration of plant instrumentation and controllers. Assist with boiler and plant control loop tuning. Responsibilities also include training the Plant Operators and Plant Technicians on control and instrumentation maintenance. May be involved with equipment modification, fabrication, and installation when assigned to a project.
Must be competent and capable to perform all the duties in accordance with the qualifications outlined in the Personnel Qualifications Checklist (PQC) program for EI&C Technician.
Four years’ experience in maintenance and operations of a coal-fired power plant or related industrial facility preferred.
Minimum of five years industrial, instrumentation/control experience.
Experience with ABB Digital Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
Completed EI&C Technician PQC preferred.
PQC completion is required in order to obtain regular status.
