Full Time; Career Starting Salary Range: $19.69-$23.37/hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the general supervision of the UCSC Copy Center manager, incumbent shall perform various duties in support of the daily operations of the UCSC Copy Center. These include operating and maintaining a variety of digital- and analog- controlled equipment, including high-speed production printers, the editing and reproduction of customer jobs from hardcopy and/or softcopy originals submitted through the campus network and various portable media, pricing of orders, customer service, and various record-keeping tasks. The position requires a positive customer service attitude, good oral and written communication skills, and an ability to work cooperatively with supervisor, co-workers, and customers to establish priorities and coordinate a variety of work. Incumbent will also provide customer service/administrative support including assisting with Mail Services customers.
Previous experience operating, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on high-volume digital production print equipment.
Previous experience working with Xerox FreeFlow or similar digital production page/document editing software.
Interpersonal and oral communication skills sufficient to interact cooperatively with students, co-workers, faculty, and staff of diverse social, cultural, and educational backgrounds in a courteous, positive, and professional manner in accordance with University and UCSC Copy Center guidelines.
Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to comprehend, interpret, and relate with clarity and accuracy technical or procedural information.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Macintosh and Windows operating systems, FileMaker Pro (or similar database software), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Due to the nature of the position, the selected incumbent will work a schedule that will vary to coincide with the operational need of the departments during peak periods of each academic quarter. May also be asked to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
In the daily performance of duties, the incumbent will be exposed to noise and a variety of chemicals/fumes and paper dust associated with the operation of photocopy and binding machines including toners, developers, and cleaning solvents.
Valid license to drive in the State of California
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
