The Clinical Systems Assistant works in assistance to the Clinical Placement Coordinator and others, in support of clinical assignments, clinical placements, required paperwork, and associated documentation technologies, and their comprehensive use. This role also assists in identifying and securing clinical preceptors and sites for student experiences. This role is responsible for technical support, technical orientation and use, data entry in multiple systems, data analysis and follow up, and communications with students, faculty, staff, and clinical preceptors within health care systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Provides orientation and educational support for graduate students, faculty and clinical preceptors in health care settings in the understanding and use of documentation/data tracking/communications technologies such as the Typhon system. 2.Assures that clinical preceptors fully use documentation technologies (such as Typhon) for retaining their clinical and regulatory credentials, student observations, student evaluation and feedback. 3.Assures that evaluation data documented by students, faculty and preceptors in clinical technologies (such as Typhon) is reviewed, analyzed, downloaded, retained and used for improvement and communications consistently by faculty and administrative leaders. 4.Audits the completeness of data in documentation system (such as Typhon) for each graduate student at the conclusion of each semester, and follows up immediately in the event of data gaps or inconsistencies. 5.Assists Clinical Placement Coordinator in identifying, inviting, and securing clinical preceptors and sites in health care systems for student experiences. 6.Assists in data entry and clinical site paperwork requirements of each individual student each semester, required to secure placements for clinical experiences in health care settings. 7.Assists in coordination and documentation of affiliation agreements with clinical agencies. 8.Creates routine letters and certificates of precepted hours for all clinical preceptors of graduate students each semester. 9.Participates in tracking and communications regarding compliance with all required health and other data mandates for undergraduate and graduate students and faculty in Castlebranch system. 10.Assists Clinical Placement Coordinator in management of documentation systems (such as Typhon), spreadsheets, communications, postings and more. 11.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associate of Arts Degree required
One to three years of work experience
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, to represent the College of Nursing with students, faculty, campus officials, and health care system partners.
Excellent skills in project management, data collection, data entry, data analysis and data reporting
Ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Ability to consult with a broad range of constituents, including health care systems, College of Nursing leaders and faculty and staff, and students.
Strong interest in student clinical placements and educational support of graduate students.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelors degree in related subject preferred.
Previous experience in data entry, communications with constituencies, organizational skills and projects, coaching others in the use of technology
