Psychology in Education - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (19004275)
This position is located within the Department of Psychology and School of Education, at the University of Pittsburgh. The Research Data Specialist will perform a variety of data management, support, and data collection duties for a federally funded research project. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining project databases, accurate records, and detailed reports of the ongoing database maintenance, communicating to the Principal Investigator and Lab Manager.
The incumbent must have excellent organizational and communication skills, supervisory abilities, academic writing skills, attention to detail, and strong working knowledge and experience with project management, data infrastructure and organization, and statistical software. The incumbent must have a strong work ethic and be able to work collaboratively and independently.
Minimum of bachelor's degree in psychology, exercise science, or nutrition. Ability to demonstrate minimal competence in the use of IBM compatible computers using standard windows environment software. Ability to adequately complete training in study-specific software.
This position requires knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, and the ability to develop knowledge of query procedures. Additional knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL, SAS, and MPlus is a plus. Experience working with large scale survey and school record data and expertise in the area of education or psychology is preferred.
