With a budget of over $22 million, Strake Jesuit has a faculty and staff of 160 committed men and women, and a very strong network of volunteers. The school’s main campus, with 50 acres and nearly 350,000 square feet of facilities, hosts a variety of academic and extracurricular activities on a college-like campus in the Sharpstown area of Houston. The second campus, two hours north of Houston in Leona, Texas, is home to the school’s Retreat and Leadership Center which hosts a variety of retreats and programming for students, faculty, staff, and volunteers.

Reporting to the President and working with the administrative team, the Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the mission of the school through careful leadership and management of the Operations Department. The Operations Department is responsible for maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of all school facilities and major systems as well as support for all special events at the school. In addition to leading these functions, the Director will play an important role in future building projects—working closely with architects and construction personnel.
A twelve-month position, the job starts July 1, 2019 or sooner. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Seven to ten years of professional experience in progressively responsible positions in non-profit or education sector is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of the principles of Catholic and Jesuit education is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of and a passion for Strake Jesuit’s mission of educating young men in the tradition of the Society of Jesus including a respect for and understanding of Strake Jesuit’s Jesuit and Catholic culture.
Excellent project management skills and proven experience in working as a part of a collaborative team of school administrators.
A self-starter and visionary with the ability to initiate and follow through on new programs and projects.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit are essential.
A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, facilities management or a related field
Evidence of continuing professional education through conferences, seminars, or professional associations is preferred.
