A key component of this role is planning event content and recruiting speakers. In some cases that will be done in concert with a council or group of members / volunteers and in some cases outside of the council structure. It includes coordinating the activities of 7 councils and 5 awards programs (not including event logistics.) This role is about content creation, volunteer management, and identifying and connecting the right people.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Act as principal liaison to all member Councils
Maintain records of Council membership, Council charters and other documents.
Work with volunteer leadership and CEO to identify and develop Council volunteer leadership and succession planning.
Lead member program content development for all member Councils.
Event programming: work with volunteer leaders to develop program content and agendas, identify and invite speakers, conduct pre-event coordination and manage speakers on-site.
Manage and administer Chamber awards programs.
Work with partners and sponsors as appropriate.
Develop and implement award selection project plans.
Act as primary administrator and point of contact on all award programs processes and outcomes.
In concert with Senior Director, Member Engagement, pursue revenue generating partnerships and programs.
In concert with Senior Director, Member Engagement act as primary point of contact with key partners.
Collaborate closely with members and sponsors to fulfill above.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are essential
Experience working with CEOs and senior business executives
Experience managing / coordinating / facilitating large numbers of volunteers
Committee / Council / Component management

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex, environment
Comfort in a small staff organization with very limited opportunity to delegate
Preferred software / technology experience: Wufoo, Cvent, at least one member database system (Weblink, Imis, or similar), Microsoft Office.
