Georgetown University invites applications for a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship for the Study of Slavery for the 2019-20 academic year. Candidates must be specialists in African-American religious history, with a preference for scholars of African-American Catholic communities. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. in a Humanities discipline within the past two years. The Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to participate in ongoing research activities relating to Georgetown University’s Slavery, Memory, and Reconciliation initiative (which may include archival research and further development of the digital capacity of the Georgetown Slavery Archive), as well as pursue her or his own independent research. The salary will be $60K with standard benefits.
