Office of Information Technology, Instructional Support and Training Videographer and Classroom Technology Support Specialist (ITR Specialist II)
The University of Tennessee's Office of Information Technology is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of IRT Specialist II: Videography and Classroom Support Specialist. This position will primarily support webcasting services to university customers. This individual must have strong skills in video production and support for the related video equipment and related hardware. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills. Additionally, this position will require the ability to operate under pressure and tight time constraints. Frequent overtime (both nights and weekends) and occasional travel will be required, at times little advanced notice. This position will also support any of the following services as assigned, video shoots, video editing, set design, lighting, audio recording. Other technical duties could include classroom technology support for faculty and staff.
Job Duties: Webcasting and Media Support Consult with clients (faculty, staff or students) on services and best practices regarding webcasting, video and audio capture. Provide quality webcasting and video streaming services for classes, meetings, and special events Support Mediasite backend content management and other media storage solutions, as added Provide documentation, instructions and user guides on current technologies related to work duties Train students and staff on related hardware and software and supervise them on shoots Configure, troubleshoot, modify, and repair audio video equipment and digital encoding equipment (cameras, microphones, mixers, video switcher) Research questions and/or problems and find solutions and efficiencies Work independently and make decisions to solve problems needing immediate solutions Monitor service requests and communicate with clients through OIT ticketing system about webcasting events Document normal practices and anomalies for webcasting sites, classrooms and equipment inventory Digitize content and media assets including text scanning, image scanning, audio digitization, video digitization, video production Maintain and prepare equipment for day-to-day and specialized webcasting schedules Maintain and order stock of work-related supplies
Video Production Produce small-to-medium scale videos from storyboard to completion * Assist producer as directed for videos shoots * Provide set up and staging, including lights, props, and backdrops * Operate cameras, Teleprompters, and other equipment related to video production * Edit video using current software * Work in the areas of digital media creation, production, manipulation, storage and delivery in multiple formats * Work independently on small to medium sized video and multimedia projects
General Provide digitization support for Digital Media Services, as assigned Actively participate in department meetings, training programs, collaborations, retreats and planning sessions Promote and maintain an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
