The position is responsible for the oversight of external revenue generation efforts for the Department Athletics including the annual gift fund, major gifts, ticket sales, and corporate sponsorships. The position is responsible for the management of these units effectively to maximize revenue generation for Islanders Athletics.
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual gifts for the Islander Athletic Fund from University alumni, friends and businesses and professionals through face-to-face visits, phone calls, e-mails, written proposals and other direct and indirect contacts; Prepare contact reports, budget, and other reports requested.
Plan, coordinate, implement and manage all athletic fund-raising activities by working closely with the Athletic Director and the Athletic Department staff.
Collaborate effectively with the Office of Institutional Advancement to align fundraising strategies and maximize efficiency in the university's fundraising efforts.
Plan, coordinate, and manage at least two major fundraising events each year.
Effectively manage staff and operations within Development/Special Events, Corporate Sponsorships, and Ticket Operations to maximize revenue generation, game attendance, brand awareness, and media coverage of Islanders Athletics.
Supervise sport programs as designated by the Director of Athletics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, management, or in closely related field.
Five (5) years of related experience.
Additional education may be used as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement:
Masters degree in related field and three (3) years of related experience.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
General knowledge of NCAA rules.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner with diverse population of customers in person, telephone, or e-mail.
Master's degree in marketing, management or closely related field.
Five (5) years of related experience to include three (3) years' experience in fundraising for an intercollegiate athletics department.
