Rutgers University-Newark, an urban, public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Director of Business Development for the Executive Education Center of Rutgers Business School. The Director of Business Development reports to the Associate Dean of Executive Education. Rutgers Business School Executive Education builds and delivers impactful learning experiences that delivers learning experiences for individuals and organizations to enhance capabilities and help their workforce perform. The Director of Business Development will work with various senior leaders at private and public institutions to address their capability and leadership building challenges, and to have an impact on their organizations and the world, by connecting their needs with the knowledge, faculty, programs, technology and pedagogical offerings of Rutgers Business School. The duties includes but not limited to; -Develops and execute the vision for growing the reach and breadth of RBS impact through lifelong learning globally. -Cultivates new client relationships, consult with clients on their talent and leadership development challenges. -Grows new business opportunities, and design professional arrangements in accordance with organizational strategy. -Builds, develop, and maintain a portfolio of custom executive education programs that will generate consistent annual revenue for Rutgers Business School Executive Education. -Travel between campuses is required. Minimum Education and Experience:
-Requires a bachelor's degree in Business or related field. -Also requires a minimum of five years relevant experience in business development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Strong organizational skills and project management skills, especially managing multiple prospects simultaneously. -Ability to manage budgets. -Ability to interact well with program participants (executives) and to interface at all levels of the University organization, including all areas of Rutgers Business School and with RBS faculty. -Attention to detail and ability to adapt to a changing environment. -Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. -Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. -Strong PowerPoint skills required. -Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce. Proficient with both in-person and online networking (LinkedIn). -Demonstrated business development track record.
-An advanced degree is preferred. -Experience in executive education or learning and development. -Customer relationship management experience in consulting and/or professional services. -Experience working with international and/or multinational clients. -Prior experience with Salesforce, Basecamp and Pardot would be advantageous.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
-The role requires a significant amount of domestic and International travel so ability to spend long spans of time in car or airplane are required.
