DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF PHILANTHROPIC PARTNERSHIPS (OPP) OPERATIONS AND STRATEGY , Resource Development , to serve as a senior member of the Philanthropic Partnerships team, with responsibility for advancing the breadth of activities and success of philanthropic advisors and a wide range of colleagues across MIT who are developing philanthropic relationships at the principal and transformative gift levels ($5M+). Will work with a creative set of development associates and assistant and associate directors to supervise, manage, and execute all of the back-office work of the OPP fund-raising team; and ensure quality control in all of the OPP's work, e.g., senior officer trips and briefings, goals and reports, meeting preparation, stewardship, managing assistants and associates, internal work redistribution, etc. Duties will also include managing the team's overall operations; hiring, training, and professional development of non-fund-raising staff; and project planning and execution for the executive director.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least five years' demonstrated success in managing, operations, and general strategy; at least two years' development experience and supervising and managing the performance of staff; direct experience developing--or playing a prominent supporting role in--strategy in a team-oriented environment; excellent organizational, interpersonal, project management, writing, and editing skills, particularly in relation to producing and editing a wide range of highly technical and scientifically rich content; self-motivation; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail; good judgment with sensitive/confidential information; ability to initiate and manage projects and keep multiple simultaneous work streams on track and within deadlines; and a high level of computer competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
