This position performs maintenance and minor repairs of the UNC parking facilities, parking equipment and cleaning equipment used by the Transportation and Parking maintenance section.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification. Optional Guidelines: experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
The selected candidate must have basic knowledge of principles and techniques of a variety of mechanical and electrical trades, be able to follow oral/written instructions, and possess knowledge and experience working with manual, power tools and using a digital multi-meter. Must also possess the basics of troubleshooting and repair a variety of gas-powered small engine equipment.
Preferred candidate should be able to interpret basic blueprints, schematics and/or parking facilities drawings. Have basic knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word programs. The ability to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical parking meters and parking equipment.
