Collections and Recovery Risk team's mission is to assist customers who need to bring their accounts current or fairly resolve their debt. The Collections and Recovery Risk team owns strategy and policy and partners closely with the Operations and Technology teams on implementation and execution. Through this partnership, members of our strategy team have a great opportunity to put new strategies in place and see tangible impacts of their work to assist customers. This position is within the Branded Cards Collections and Recoveries Strategy team. The team is responsible for managing and monitoring existing strategies and tests, leading work to ensure our business is well-managed, and developing and launching new strategies to reduce losses and expenses while improving the client experience. This team manages strategies related to the Branded Cards portfolio including products from key partners such as American Airlines and Costco. The role provides a very exciting intersection of analytical and consumer behavior strategy.
Recommend strategies that will reduce delinquency roll rates and losses
Optimize treatments applied to accounts across stages of delinquency to ensure that business objectives are realized while maintaining strict adherence with regulatory guidance and policy
Hypothesis development, analysis, test design, champion challenger analysis to improve strategy effectiveness
Identify new opportunities to improve efficiency in Collections and Recovery
Responsible to track performance and communicate results to management
Analyze tests and performance using SAS/SQL, Teradata. Conduct P&L analysis
Identify areas to reduce cost of Collections and Recovery business areas without negatively impacting performance
Collaborate with Operations to execute strategies, validate execution and report status
4 year degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Graduate degree is highly desirable
Minimum 5+ years of Credit Cards related experience or 6+ years related analytic experience using quantitative analysis, preferably in a risk context
Minimum 5+ years' experience in statistical analysis with working knowledge of at least one of the following statistical software packages: SAS (preferred), SPSS, Statistica, S+ or equivalent
Experience with Teradata, SQL programming in a UNIX environment
Ability to establish solid cross-functional partnerships and networks to contribute and execute cross-functional and business initiatives
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills, thought leadership and should be comfortable working with ambiguity
The successful candidate will have demonstrable analytic and project management skills
