SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held manufacturer in Butler County to identify a Quality Engineer. This company is a small manufacturing environment offering a laid-back culture where decisions are made with less formality in comparison to a larger organization, and all employees are highly encouraged to provide their feedback and suggestions for improvements. POSITION The Quality Engineer will be responsible for heading up the quality efforts and requires a high attention to detail and self-motivation. A thorough understanding of ISO 0991:2015, Corrective & Preventative Actions, First Article Inspections, PPAP, SPC, Control Plans, PFMEA, Flow Charts, and the ability to use them effectively is needed.
Responsibilities will include: • Working with multiple departments to maintain an ISO 9001:2015 certified Quality Management System that focuses on standardization and prevention. • Managing supplier quality processes with a focus on material, coating and quality specifications. • Developing under-performing suppliers. Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of quality standards are imperative. • Interpreting part drawings and specifications, as well as identifying what inspection equipment and gauges are appropriate. • Communicating product / process / documentation discrepancies and potential discrepancies to aid continuous improvement efforts to management and customers. • Completing customer documentation as required. • Suggesting opportunities for improvement for the company.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technical field highly preferred. • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality, specifically with ISO 9001:2015 or other quality standards. • Thorough understanding of Corrective & Preventative Action, First Article Inspections, PPAP, SPC, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Flow Charts required. • ERP / MRP experience required. • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Experience with metals preferred. • Highly detail oriented and a strong self-motivation to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
