This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Analyst Programmer, competency level 3, position for Web and Mobile Services at Oregon State University (OSU).
Web and Mobile Services (WAMS), part of the Information and Technology Division at Oregon State University, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month Analyst Programmer 3 position. This position is a full-stack, lead developer for the suite of applications that compose the OSU Digital Experience Initiative. This initiative encompasses modern services built on scalable and robust frameworks, APIs and practices that enhance the overall experience of interacting with the university.
This position is at the top of the escalation chain for development and maintenance of WAMS products. This position provides leadership in all aspects of development including:
Backend and frontend web development
Deployment and configuration of web infrastructure
Automation of repeatable tasks
Technical support for finished projects
Researching new methods and technologies to improve the quality of department products and services
Documenting all procedures and operations as outlined by team standards.
Participation and leadership within the greater OSU web community.

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in systems analysis and related programming support functions generally obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent amount of training and applied experience.
Ability to design, develop and deploy web applications.
Knowledge of backend languages or frameworks such as Node.js, PHP, Python or Ruby.
Ability to consume data through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Ability to manage code with Git.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with people with diverse experiences, backgrounds and skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to work in and lead teams.
