The Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University seeks a visionary, design-focused Assistant Professor in Emerging Media and Digital Arts (EMDA). We are particularly interested in a dynamic colleague with background and experience in design practice and production to prepare students for digital futures in Creative Industries. Applicants should have a terminal degree (MFA or PhD), strong background in contemporary design, and a dedication to innovative and responsive teaching.
Demonstrated effective teaching and mentorship
Ability to work collaboratively and cordially with fellow faculty, students, and guest artists
Desire, ability, and patience to effectively teach and train novice students
Show promise to attract and retain students interested in Emerging Media and Digital Arts
Have industry experience and a commitment to deepening SOU's connections with creative industries
Demonstrated potential for connecting students with a variety of post-degree options
Ability to nurture students from diverse backgrounds and identities.

Special Instructions to Applicants:
Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
