The Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs works closely with the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost to provide vision, leadership and sound operational management across all schools, programs and campuses, with particular emphasis on the following key areas: 1) institutional research and assessment planning; 2) school and university assessment efforts and educational effectiveness; and 3) regional and professional accreditation.Responsibilities: Supervises the Executive Director of OIRA and supports the overall advancement of OIRA Oversees the submission of reports for NECHE, the regional accreditor, including the Annual Report, 5-Year Interim Report, and Comprehensive Self-Study report Works closely with and supports the institutional needs of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs , Associate Provosts, Vice Presidents, and other senior administrators in coordinating and using assessment results to support the strategic planning, decision making and institutional performance measures of the University Collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure that the University?s needs for correct and consistent data are met Oversees implementation and maintenance of the University?s Institutional Assessment Plan Leads and oversees academic and institutional data systems and reporting Provides guidance and advice on the University?s educational effectiveness system and strategies to enhance evidence-based decision-making Maintains current knowledge of techniques, federal reporting changes, and standards of institutional research and assessment Oversees the collection and review of annual assessment reports from all academic units and prepares the Academic Affairs Annual Assessment Report Provides guidance, direction and support to deans, program directors and faculty on assessment principles, assessment plan development, and interpretation of assessment results Manages special projects and develops reports as requested by the VPAA/Provost Serves as requested on various University committees Represents the VPAA/Provost at internal and external events as requested Organizes and reports research results clearly, efficiently and effectively in narrative, graphical and oral formats for various University audiences Oversees completion and dissemination of reports and information to governmental agencies and other associations, including IPEDS, state surveys, national surveys, regional and professional accreditation bodies, and other requests as needed Reviews school and program accreditation reports and materialsAdditional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications:Required: A doctorate or terminal degree in educational administration, a health profession, or related field A minimum of five years of experience in an academic setting leading institutional assessment activities, including supervisory experience at the level of dean or above Experience with IPEDS, NCES, regional accreditor reporting, and health profession accrediting organization requirements Experience developing metrics for assessing and enhancing strategic and assessment planning to augment student success and educational effectiveness Familiarity with high-impact educational practices and innovative assessment strategies Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with faculty and staff at all levels in the University as both a facilitator and a leader Experience with a multi-campus institution of higher education Excellent leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects simultaneously Strong innovative and collaborative skills with an exceptional capacity for working as part of a team Excellent written, oral and inter-professional communication skills, including public speaking skills appropriate for diverse audiences in higher education Knowledge of higher education practice and policies, curriculum design, and assessment of student learning using various technologies Strong research skills including design, implementation and reporting Strong knowledge of statistical software for data analyses Strong computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and database and data analysis applications Strong time-management, leadership, project management, decision-making, and organizational skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities and meet deadlines Good organizational skills and attention to detailMCPHS offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits that includes a substantial contribution toward the cost of medical and dental insurance, generous time off benefits, and a significant pension plan contribution.
