We are seeking a Research Project Associate (RPA) to manage our research projects related to implementation of tobacco treatment services at MSK as well as at various community oncology settings. The aim of these projects is to better understand the barriers and facilitators of implementing tobacco dependence treatment delivery in cancer care sites as well as to implement strategies for improvement of current tobacco treatment delivery practices in different cancer care settings.
In this role, you will be responsible for management of all components of these projects, including database development and maintenance, data collection and entry, communicating progress and challenges, and working with the study team and principal investigator (PI) to manage and analyze the study data. This position is currently funded full-time for 2 years.
Assist in the development and evaluation of patient, provider and systems level strategies to improve tobacco treatment delivery in cancer care settings
Support the PI and study team as needed for data management and relevant project duties
Provide regular reports to the PI regarding study progress and challenges and work with the PI to address any problems that arise
Organize and participate in weekly study meetings
Design database(s) and tools to facilitate data collection as needed for assigned research projects
Maintenance of study databases, codebooks, and procedures for data entry and monitoring
Work with the MSK informatics team and IT manager to develop/implement strategies for streamlining Tobacco Treatment Program referrals
Obtain informed consent and administer questionnaires and qualitative interviews when necessary
Ensure coordination and implementation of project-related activities
Assist in the preparation of grants, presentations and manuscripts
Perform literature searches
Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant research experience OR Master's
Masters degree preferred (e.g., public health, implementation science or related field)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Tableau, and SPSS
Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail
Able to prioritize and schedule work activities to ensure that workflow is efficient and meets the needs of the project
Able to effectively work independently and within a large team setting
Superior interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills;
Needs to be detail-oriented
Strong analytical and data management skills
Knowledge of Visio and/or Gant project management software a plus.
