If selected for this position, you must live no more than 60 minutes away from the duty station in case of call-out.
This position is subject to overtime work.
You must have a valid driver's license.
You will be required to possess a pair of fully-encased safety-toed footwear meeting the standard ASTM F 2413-05 upon reporting to work.
If you are tentatively selected for this position, you will be required to have a physical examination that will determine whether you are qualified to perform the duties of the position. An offer of employment will depend upon your successfully passing the physical examination.
This position requires completion of an annual medical examination at Federal expense.

You must have journeyman-level ability in the duties of a Meter and Relay Craftsman as described in KSA #1.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to do the work of a Meter and Relay Craftsman without greater than normal supervision (install and commission, or maintain and repair, protective relay equipment and/or polyphase revenue metering equipment associated with power system distribution or transmission systems.)
2. Knowledge and ability to use tools and specialized equipment and procedures to maintain and test power system metering, control, and protective relay equipment.
3. Knowledge of electrical theory and instruments and ability to do troubleshooting.
4. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and instruction manuals.
