Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Art and Visual Culture in the College of Design at Iowa State University is offering a two year term faculty position in fine art photography starting August 16, 2019.
Qualified candidates must bring a contemporary perspective on photography as well as digital photography experience. The candidate may have experience in in experimental/alternative photographic processes. The successful candidate is expected to teach 5 courses per year (undergraduate and/or graduate levels) that include studio courses and seminars in the areas of traditional and digital photographic media. The position responsibilities will include maintaining the photo studio.
Required Education and Experience:
Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree or equivalent.
Experience in administering photography studio and equipment
Preferred Education and Experience:
Evidence of successful college level teaching experience beyond graduate assistantship
Demonstrated evidence of professional accomplishment.
Thorough knowledge of contemporary issues related to emerging artistic genres and their relationship to photography
