Reporting to the Associate Director for User Experience & Design Services, we are seeking an energetic User Experience Designer to join our Campus Community Technologies team. You need to be a UX guru who is able to look at the big picture (from a UX, technology, and business perspective) to create compelling user experiences for our campus community.
You should possess strong strategic, creative and planning skills that enable you to effectively communicate, facilitate and drive solutions. You should be an innovative thinker, knowledgeable about UX methodologies and their application, and passionate about user-focused design.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two to four years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to plan and execute user experience, service design, and interface design projects, including requirements elicitation, user research, stakeholder analysis, information architecture, content strategy, and user interface design. In-depth understanding and experience of user scenarios, flow diagrams, design systems, usability principles, and accessibility.
Demonstrated skill communicating findings, recommendations, and designs to a variety of audiences (clients, stakeholders, and developers). Demonstrated ability creating deliverables such as briefs, wireframes, sitemaps, and prototypes. Proficiency in tools related to those deliverables, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Axure RP or similar.
Familiarity with content management systems, with a preference for Drupal. This is not a coding role, but the candidate should understand how web technologies and content management systems can constrain design decisions.
Demonstrated ability working with internal teams of UX designers, user researchers, graphic designers, developers, and project managers; Demonstrated ability handling client expectations in a higher education environment.
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills. A strong team player who can communicate with people across many disciplines.
