Department Profile Professionals within Legal and Compliance (LCD) provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. Background on the Team The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) provides strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of the Firm's regulators and related developments globally, focusing on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. GRRG serves as the central point of contact with key supervisory regulators globally to facilitate open, cooperative and constructive relationships; provides advice and guidance on regulatory interactions and engagement; oversees responses to and commitments made to regulators; and apprises the Board, Senior Management, and relevant governance bodies and stakeholders of these matters and related significant regulatory developments. GRRG Program Management develops and implements the processes by which the Enterprise Regulatory Oversight Committee (EROC) oversees (i) significant regulatory assessments and findings and the Firm's responses thereto, and (ii) tracking of the progress of initiatives related to large-scale programs addressing significant regulatory assessments and findings, and implementation of significant new regulatory requirements (together, "Strategic Initiatives"). Additionally, within the team , the Regulatory Response Oversight (RRO) function is responsible for oversight, tracking, and reporting to EROC, regarding remediation of regulatory findings.
Support day-to-day management and development of the GRRG technology tools and initiatives, including IBM Open Pages - Global Regulatory Assessment Management System (GRAMS) and Issues and Actions, Remediation Search Tool (RST), REMEDI (program management and reporting) and all future technology initiatives
o Provide guidance and training on the GRRG-related technology tools o Perform User Acceptance Testing for OpenPages and RST (Remediation Search Tool) releases; create and update test scripts as required o Develop and maintain direct relationships with Information Technology, Operational Risk, Internal Audit and others in order to support and enhance GRRG's technology tools and initiatives
Assist in the development and implementation of evolving reporting requirements for metrics , exception reporting and senior management reporting (including senior management, steering committees, EROC and related working group meetings, and Board meetings)
Perform data analysis for RRO, including identification of themes, trends and root-cause
Assist in the production of and coordination of presentations for Morgan Stanley senior management, steering committees, and Board meetings
Produce exception reports with respect to the quality and completeness of the data entered in GRAMS/OpenPages and follow up with owners regarding the remediation of the exceptions
Assist in the development and production of evolving reporting requirements for projects/programs within the EROC portfolio for Morgan Stanley senior management, steering committees, EROC and related working group meetings, and Board meetings
Provide support to related GRRG functional teams, as needed
Skills required (essential)
3 to 4 years of business analyst experience. Agile or PMP certification a plus
Bachelor's Degree required
Experience in a financial services organization or management consulting firm, with regulatory relations experience a plus
Understanding of and familiarity with financial services industry (knowledge of audit, compliance or regulatory processes preferred)
Faculty for technology as well as project management of technology driven initiatives
Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and data analysis and presentation skills
Keen attention to detail and desire to take final ownership of content in deliverables
Strong written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong planning and organization skills
Ability to quickly grasp key concepts, flexible, able to manage short deadlines, change of priorities
Strong office productivity tools skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint); advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, VBA, PivotTables) and Tableau are a plus
