Bishop-McCann is seeking six freelance exhibit managers to join our Chicago-based team to plan a convention scheduled April 20-23, 2020. Contractors should be available in September 2019 to begin pre-planning work.
The Exhibit Manager should be a strong project manager with a good-to-expert level understanding of graphics, materials, and methods used in constructing, managing and fabricating tradeshow exhibits. The right candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations as they coordinate with the client, cross functional teams and outside vendors. They role will project manage all aspects of exhibit development, while adhering to strict budget parameters and timelines to ensure a successful exhibit is presented on time and on budget.
Other responsibilities include:
Project manage the development of each assigned corporate exhibit
Manage and build timelines for designated corporate exhibit
Develop meeting agenda and disseminate meeting minutes after each meeting to ensure alignment across key stakeholders.
Manage budget for each assigned corporate exhibit
Budget reconciliation of final invoices as needed to ensure vendor charges are accurate
Communicate convention information and updates to content owners
Coordinate graphic, video, interactive and other creative elements required for experience
Coordinate with the Convention Center to provide utilities, network, rigging and any other services required for exhibit
Archiving files and information throughout project
Assist with overall pre-planning, on-site management and development of the exhibit
Strong project management and organizational skills
High level of attention to detail
Stellar customer service/client management skills
Expert working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
Great verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience in Exhibit Display and/or specialty construction/fabrication is highly desired
Comfortable with high level of ambiguity
We expect the required program hours to vary but will include site visits, onsite days, travel to Florida and 2-4 days per week are required onsite and in-person in Chicago.
