The Healthy Mothers-Healthy Children project focuses on Hispanic mothers and their 3-4 year old children and increasing self-efficacy around nutrition and physical activity. This 3 year time-limited position will serve as the Research Assistant to the Healthy Mothers-Healthy Children project and the direct link between the Project Manager and others involved in the project. Specific responsibilities will include: assisting Project Manager with administrative tasks associated with the project timeline to ensure time-dependent study goals are met; assisting with organizing project-related meetings and events; communicating with study participants and being sensitive to their potential limited English proficiency; assisting with field participant recruitment, enrollment, intervention and data collection activities; assisting with participant incentive distributions; recording participant survey responses into participant database; performing literature reviews for supplemental grants.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Be fluent in Spanish or display high Spanish-speaking proficiency; Apply basic knowledge of research principles and methods of data entry, collection and analysis to complete defined assignments independently; apply basic knowledge of statistics and information technology to apply a variety of statistical techniques and formula in the collection and preparation of data/information related to defined research area; proficiency with Qualtrics, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel; ability to observe, collect and record a variety of data/information; convey clear and concise information verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of public health program planning, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on the Hispanic culture, and guidelines for nutrition and physical activity; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with a modest level of supervision; great attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.
