Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director for Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID). This position reports to the Director of Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID). The Assistant Director provides leadership, supervision and operational management for GRID. This position is responsible for planning and controlling change for GRID. The Assistant Director oversees fiscal management through billing, and actual cost center operations, as well as quotes for services and invoicing. Additionally they supervise and manage a staff of two (2) full-time staff members and several part-time hourly employees.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Manages the quality assurance and customer support for GRID clients who are faculty, students, staff, and 3rd party partners.
Continues to research new technologies and methods for improved organizational efficiency.
Oversees logistics, access to products and services, and the physical space allows an efficient and safe work environment.
Enforces and assists in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures within the project management, development, and operation groups.
Assists staff in understanding the outcomes of stakeholders as well as capture requirements for new and existing projects, ensuring the balance of product innovation and evolution.
Creates procedures and documentation, for projects, services, product deployment, and support.
Regularly evaluates and reviews materials, and methods utilized and best practices, providing recommendations as appropriate to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field
A minimum of five years of experience in product or business management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in game industry
Worked with faculty, and understands the needs of a highly technical and new technology deployment and support.
Should have experience with mobile and console game development, optimizing memory and space usage.
Ability to build strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
Have a working knowledge of Asana and common financial software.
