Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The role is multi-faceted and requires the candidate to manage projects that support Mandatory, Regulatory, and Discretionary initiatives impacting our Institutional Securities Group (ISG) and Wealth Management (WM) divisions. Project deliveries are centered on data sourcing, data flow and reconciliation, workflow efficiency through tooling, process automation and control/risk management. Candidate will be responsible for deliveries against one or more projects, programs and/or small enhancement prioritization queues with key stakeholders (concurrently).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Project Management - Stakeholder management -Project planning and control - Status Tracking and Reporting to show progress reporting through effective and meaningful metrics - Issue and Risk Management analysis - Oversight of contracted staff where applicable providing daily project guidance and support to assigned resources - Develop an understanding of current working practices in the line - Document business processes, rules and reference data requirements - Liaise with Operations and Technology to ensure that business requirements have been correctly understood and documented - Analyze and understand the impact of any new requirements on existing businesses - Lead detailed analysis with line staff, wider Ops groups and Business units to formulate and consolidate business requirements - Become a key contact for IT colleagues to assist on query resolution during system design and build - Display value-add capabilities in delivering effective requirements for the change portfolio - Ensure projects have thorough business cases with measurable benefits and costs - Produce and distribute minutes of analysis meetings Remain current with all other areas of analysis across the Change program - Prepare test strategy and approach - Oversee/carry out documentation of test scripts - Oversee/carry out test execution -Co-ordinate and provide training for test users during UAT - Produce training materials, user manual, reference materials and participate in the delivery of training, as required - Plan, test and control deployment and verification process - Prepare runbooks to support deployments - Provide CTB coverage during deployments as necessary - Provide post go-live production support of the deployed process/system, as required
Skills Required - Sound understanding of product/pricing reference data concepts, unique product identifiers, pricing methodologies, asset class attributes and general understanding of the overall regulatory environment around ref data - Awareness of market data vendors (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Interactive Data Corporation, etc.), their strengths and weaknesses along with their data delivery methods - Demonstrated Project and/or Software Delivery Management skills (including risk management, planning and control) - Demonstrated problem solving and business analysis skills - Demonstrated experience with testing coordination/execution - Experience leading projects that include new system implementation and/or enhancements to existing systems - Experience leading new projects from ideation through business readiness and implementation phases - Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization; ability to act as a bridge between several business areas -Ability to present concepts and project/program updates completely, concisely and succinctly both verbally and written - Ability to work in a team environment, build and maintain a network of contacts, and coordinate with a large number of stakeholders across the business and technology - Ability to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution - Ability to work well under time constraints and prioritize appropriately across multiple projects - Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work - Experience leading others to achieve project objectives - Advanced MS Office skills (including Visio, Excel, PowerPoint) - Ability to analyze data sets to identify themes and trends and to concisely present findings
