Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning, Design and Construction, the incumbent is responsible for planning and design of campus physical improvements, new construction and renovation projects, landscape, and other design and construction work as may be required. The Project Manager, Design and Construction will assist in the management of planning, architectural, and engineering consultants to maintain the University's aesthetic, functional, and technical objectives, including longevity, sustainability, functionality, maintainability, and architectural appropriateness. The incumbent will assist in the management of large and small capital improvement and renewal projects through a cross functional team, including, but not limited to, technical experts in Facilities Services and Information Technology, to execute the assigned projects. The Project Manager will work with students, faculty, administration and staff to implement the goals and objectives of the University Strategic Plan, Facilities Master Plan, and campus standards and guidelines as it relates to their responsibilities.
Prerequisite Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, planning or a related field; A minimum of three (3) years experience as a project manager with a medium to large construction management firm or general contractor, university, or another campus environment; Thorough knowledge of principles and best practices of architecture and design, building materials, current methods and techniques used in building construction and renovations; Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in both public and internal capacities; Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Strong interpersonal skills.
