The Integrated Genomics Operation (IGO) is a LEAN laboratory providing a broad range of genomic services and expertise to MSKCC investigators. By providing access to an array of highly specialized next generation sequencing systems (NGS), IGO is enabling basic, clinical and translation research projects across the Cancer Center.
We are seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join the Data Management Team of IGO. This multifaceted team develops laboratory support tools, manages NGS data generation from BCL to BAM files, analyzes sequencing data using established pipeline, provides system administration for computational resources, and assists collaborator with data access. You will work with other software engineers, computational biologists, project managers, and genomic sequencing core scientists.

Bachelors degree with 2-4+ years of software development experience or a masters degree in computer science, bioinformatics or other applied science
Advanced experience in object-orientated programming (preferably Java), additional experience with Python
Thorough experience with relational databases
Familiarity with Spring
Familiarity with genomic data and metadata
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems
