The purpose of this position is to ensure that the content of the College’s digital properties, including web, catalog, and social media, are maintained for accurate, current and attractive content, are engaging and relevant, and display a positive image of the College to support student recruitment and retention, community engagement, build alumni relationships and encourage financial giving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the College’s Director of Recruiting and Communications to implement and enhance the College’s recruitment, marketing and communications.
(1) Website development and support (30% of time) • Design, create and manage content of all CLAE webpages, including departmental and program pages. Work with University Marketing & Communications to assure University of Detroit Mercy style and content requirements are met. Work with Director of Recruitment & Communications, Associate Dean, Chairs and Program Directors to regularly update and improve web presence • Photograph events and people related to the College. Post photos to College digital properties. Maintain a photo archive. • Promote College events through social media and other digital outlets • Monitor web site error messages and resolve technical problems. • Forward correspondence from site users to the appropriate persons. • Create visual content for the web and social media including photographs and video. • Develop new content, independently, and through dialogue with faculty. • Attend periodic meetings with ITS, Marketing & Communications and other offices as appropriate. • Monitor Google Analytics for CLAE pages; create monthly and quarterly reports as needed. • Ensure all webpage content supports search engine optimization, voice engine optimization and ADA compliance. • Review the College website regularly to ensure accuracy and implement updates as needed. • Update website to reflect any changes that occurred in the University Catalog.
(2) Social Media (30% of time) • Create and post content to College social media properties at regular intervals according to overall marketing, recruiting and communication strategy. • Monitor College social media sites; Reply to posts • Monitor University and College department social sites and share relevant. • Create monthly and quarterly report metrics for social media progress • Create and implement a social media calendar. • Continually explore new opportunities for social media use. • Serve as consultative resource to CLAE faculty who wish to begin or improve social media sites related to their department or program. (3) Design print and digital resources for the College and its programs (20% of time) • Work in coordination with the College Director of Recruiting and Communications and others to design digital and print resources for internal and external distribution.
(4) University Catalogs (20% of time) • Work with Dean, Department Chairpersons, Program Directors, Registrar’s Office and ITS to keep CLAE sections of the undergraduate and graduate catalogues updated. • Compare all graduate and undergraduate programs against degree evaluations. Resolve discrepancies. • Verify all course numbers and titles. • Ensure content complies with Associated Press style. • Update College contact and policy content.

Education (Minimum/Preferred): A college degree
Experience (Minimum/Preferred): Six months to two years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Superior organizational skills • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Strong attention to detail • Able to work independently • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, web design and content management software, HTML, and Google Analytics • Work experience in an academic environment is preferred • Marketing and graphic design experience • Photography and videography skills • Demonstrated proficiency in social media in a business setting preferred • Proficiency in Associated Press style preferred
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.

Salary/Pay Information: Commensurate with Experience
Anticipated Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
