MANAGER OF ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (AR) AND CASHIER SERVICES , Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Controllership , to be responsible for management and control of daily operations. AR and Cashier Services are embarking on a multiyear transformation focused on core process improvements, data/metrics-driven management, new technology implementation, and alignment of Institute AR guidance and functions. Will oversee all operational functions related to AR and Cashier Services, including billing, cash settlement and application, account reconciliation, customer disputes and resolution, analysis of receivable balances, processes and controls, month-end close, and audit support; supervise, train, and develop staff; and oversee development and implementation of enhancements to meet the needs of MIT.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in finance, accounting, or business administration; at least seven years' financial accounting or audit experience and at least four leading accounting or financial operations teams; expert-level knowledge of accounting principles and relevant federal regulations for AR, including those specific to research and nonprofit organizations; excellent analytical, project management, problem-solving, organizational, consultative, team-building, leadership, and oral and written communication skills; ability to drive and manage multiple priorities, projects, and team members; ability to deal with stressful or high-pressure situations; discretion, tact, and good judgment with highly sensitive and confidential information; collaborative working style; excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; flexibility and willingness to pitch in; ability to develop and lead training sessions and to deliver presentations to VPF and MIT leadership. CPA or equivalent designation, ability to review and interpret legal agreements/contracts to determine MIT's billing responsibilities, experience managing based on data and metrics, MIT finance/accounting experience, and experience with SAP or similar enterprise accounting systems preferred.
