The Technology Trainer is responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of technical training courses, sessions, and activities for employees and students. Trainings include but are not limited to classroom lectures, webcasts, videoconferences, computer-based training, and web-based training.
The Technology Trainer will coordinate with ITSDE staff and administrative offices on campus to assess training needs of both employees and students and develop training activities that align with the University's goals. The Technology Trainer will manage the technology training program in accordance with business needs and regulatory requirements, and communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure training needs and goals are being met.
The Technology Trainer will plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other workshops and activities. The Technology Trainer will be responsible for planning and creating instructional materials (course outlines, training aids, etc.) to be used in training programs and design exercises to enhance lectures and presentations. The Technology Trainer will conduct classes regularly and ensure the quality and consistency of course content.
The Technology Trainer will provide end-user training for various software and technology products, including training on the operation, configuration and maintenance of new technology. The Technology Trainer will also assist others in the design and development of computer-based, web-based, and multimedia curriculum, including the creation of multimedia elements.
The Technology Trainer will manage the University's training management system, Neo, the University's online skills portal, Lynda.com, and the technology training lab.

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Prefer 2 years experience providing technology training.
A strong proficiency with computer operating systems and expert knowledge of PCs, Macs, Office 365 and Microsoft Office, desktop technology, and Internet applications. Must have experience using training development authoring tools including the Adobe Creative Cloud collection and similar digital editing programs to aide in the building of course content and the creation of multimedia elements. Must have experience facilitating sessions in these areas. Extensive experience planning and facilitating training, electronic learning, and multimedia programs.
Strong organization and presentation skills with the ability to conduct presentations to all levels of personnel, including management. Ability to present at meetings and events upon request by the Director. Experience delivering training in various settings, including but not limited to instructor-led formal classroom settings, web-based environments, one-to-one settings, and large scale sessions.
Ability to assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and learning outcomes. Must utilize strong coaching skills to support a variety of learning styles and approaches when delivering training.
Provide end-user training support for technology deployments and assist other trainers in the development of training goals. Ability to mentor other trainers in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques.
Project management experience with the ability to initiate and take ownership of projects within the Technology Training area. Must be flexible, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
Must have excellent customer service, promotional, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be organized and have the ability to manage a variety of tasks, set priorities, and meet business obligations.
