The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking an IT Project Manager II to facilitate the delivery of small to medium, simple to moderately complex IT solutions requested by OIT and departments and/or planning units across the university. This includes assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying needed resources, developing schedules, and overseeing the completion of the project. The project manager will provide leadership and direction for project teams during all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is required to have excellent follow-through and communication skills and exhibit great attitude and energy in a team-focused environment.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage small to medium, simple to moderately complex projects
Create and maintain project artifacts such as, but not limited to: project charters, project plans, status reports, communication plans, issues and risks log, etc.
Negotiate conflicts and resolve issues
Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects including scheduling, assignment of work and review of effort
Identifying resource constraints
Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with business owners, project sponsors, vendors and key clients
Candidate must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and at least three years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or business analysis. Candidate has: Demonstrated knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with custom applications, ERPs and/or third party vendors; Experience working on Agile project teams; PMP certification
