Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a FGP Rev Cycle Proj Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate Reporting to the Assistant Director of Ambulatory Professional Billing Operations, the Project Manager is responsible for establishing positive/collaborative relationships with our growing network of physician practices, ensuring that new practice transitions occur smoothly and on schedule, and communicating with the practices on day-to-day, issues involving revenue cycle. The ideal candidate must understand revenue cycle workflows and have a strong analytical background. He or she will monitor metrics and find areas for improvement and ensure maximization of cash flow while improving patient, physician and other customer satisfaction
Serves as liaison between physicians/practices and the Central Billing Office (CBO) including systems, operations, customer service, and Revenue Initiatives;
Attends transition meetings for new practices, collects data/information and reviews risks with CBO management to ensure that timelines are met;
Meets with new practice to discuss policies and procedures, workflows, etc
Identifies trends, researches and communicates with practices as needed;
Review monthly financial reports and communicates with management on findings;
Handles escalated/high priority account issues in a timely manner;
Works closely with the credentialing department on issues related to the ambulatory site transitions;
Assists with staff development and training on standard workflows, policies and procedures;
Integrates with ambulatory development team assisting with staffing levels necessary to complete billing activities; demonstrates an understanding of practice models and business plans;
Maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external teams to ensure integration and alignment of department priorities;
Performs various analyses and provides recommendations for workflows;
Reviews monthly FGP revenue cycle metrics for areas of improvement within practices including denial trends;
Travel to multiple practice locations as applicable;
Develop monthly action plan report for delegated practices within the report track and follow up on the outstanding issues. Work to resolve open item;
Performs regular and ad-hoc operational analyses related to processes, charges, claims, and/or accounts receivable;
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: Knowledge of: Medical billing software; healthcare billing including Medicare, Medicaid, or other third party payers; terminology utilized in medical billing; English usage, grammar, and spelling; basic math. Ability to: plan, schedule, assign, coordinate, and evaluate the work of billing staff; provide training; read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures; draw conclusions, and make recommendations; exercise independent judgment; maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, superiors, and others; maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree and 4-6 years of revenue cycle management or account management experience in a health care environment. Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, effectively presenting information to management, faculty practice groups and individuals Excellent organizational and project management skills. Strong time management, attention to detail, and follow through. Well-developed research skills. Strong knowledge of revenue cycle process Able to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment Ability to make sound and evaluative judgments; strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
