Responsible for identifying new customers, soliciting assigned market segments, and increasing revenues through leasing The Expo’s exhibit space and World Market Center Las Vegas’ special event and meeting space located throughout the Las Vegas campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
SALES and PROSPECITING ACTIVITY
All encompassing to acquiring new revenues directly associated with leasing any and all available space on campus.
Performs site visits.
Actively sells and books revenue for facility in form of rent, food and beverage, and ancillary products.
Identifies new accounts within assigned market segments and directly solicits their events
Solicitation in all forms to include travel, phone (inbound & outbound), direct mail, email, etc.
Position supports General Manager to qualify and prioritize lead responses.
Become intimately familiar with buildings and all their attributes, capacities, and benefits of use.
Prepare vendors and operations team members for campus tours with prospects.
Conduct regular site tours of facility with prospects/clients/stakeholders/other entities as needed.
Active participation in local industry association and chapters that align with assigned market segments
Timely and thorough follow up on leads initiated both independently and by third parties to lease the exhibit, special event and meeting spaces located on the Las Vegas campus.
Maintain detailed account of sales process and agreements within database
Quarterly, generate productivity and prospecting reports and adjust sales process and account strategy accordingly in tandem with General Manager.
Ensure that License Agreements are drafted in accordance with Company and Departmental guidelines within a 24 hour timeframe of client request.
Conduct research on assigned markets and assess selling conditions.
Help to identify and execute strategies to increase market share against competitive set.
Handles written correspondence to prospects and customers until account can be turned over to an Event Coordinator/Manager.
Provide adequate follow through on all pending/prospect bookings.
Develop and deliver printed and oral presentations to show organizers, corporate meeting groups, stakeholders and other organizations interested in using any of the exhibit, special event and meeting space on campus.
Attend in-house event related meetings and relay any pertinent event information in a timely manner.
Assist in marketing efforts to update marketing materials (website, social media platforms, print and digital collateral, etc.) as needed.
Effectively and professionally negotiate venue agreements with clients, bringing in applicable IMC departments and vendors as needed (legal, food and beverage, etc.)
Be cognizant of opportunities that may also be of a fit for the Atlanta Convention Center and refer to that sales team accordingly.
Other duties as assigned by the General Manager/Vice President and/or other Sr. Officer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A four-year College degree in Marketing, Business or related field with at least three (3) years of prior related experience in sales, event planning is preferred. Corporate meeting sales and/or tradeshow industry experience is strongly preferred. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, written and listening skills. Should be familiar with how to prospect customers, explain product value and feature and handle account issues on the telephone or face-to-face. Candidate must possess flexibility, initiative and be attentive to details and have the ability to produce results while managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment. Candidate must have excellence computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sales Logix software. Must project a professional image and have the ability to deal with customer’s questions and complaints in a courteous manner.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Very strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint specifically). Ability to learn new programs / software as assigned.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be a results oriented individual with the ability to meet required sales and marketing goals.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be articulate and have a pleasant speaking voice. Must possess excellent customer service skills, be organized, able to prioritize workload, and be a team player. Must be able to work irregular hours in additional to weekends and holidays as needed. Must have the ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks and work productively in a fast paced environment.
