The Biology Department is seeking to fill the position of Instructional Lab Coordinator. This individual will be working directly with the Academic Coordinator in preparation of laboratory facilities and materials for multi-section introductory lab courses, servicing approximately 1500 students per academic year. This will include advanced preparations and the scheduled set up and take down of materials. Coordinate activities of other preparatory personnel. Monitor good laboratory practices, e.g. laboratory policies and safety procedures, monitor use of equipment and general laboratory maintenance. Coordinate and maintain course related instructional technology, equipment and materials in undergraduate laboratory rooms. Ensure computers, digitized equipment, and other technologies are operational and compatible with instructional requirements. Install new and updated versions of software, resolve hardware and software issues. Coordinate the maintenance of equipment and inventory control of supplies and equipment. Work with the instructional coordinator, order equipment and expendable stock materials. Work with department faculty in preparation and coordination of departmental sponsored workshops and conferences that involve course and professional outreach in biology.
Communication, planning, organizing, attention to detail, computer skills, multimedia management and inventory management skills, knowledge of safety procedures.
