The Research Aide will complete work under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work and within established work parameters. The person in the role will assist in electrophysiological and behavioral testing sessions with infants and toddlers; scoring behavioral tests; database management; video recording; monitoring data collection; general laboratory support; and entertaining infant participants. Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a high school/vocational school or equivalent, and experience compiling and organizing varied data. Two years of varied office experience. College-level study may be substituted for the office experience on a year for year basis. Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats. May require working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must have effective client service skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires relevant background check(s), Protection of Minors training and certification, and IRB certification.
A bachelor's degree with courses in biological sciences or psychology; experience with ERP equipment; experience with infants and toddlers and parent interaction preferred.
Applicant should be comfortable using computers (both PC and Mac) and Filmmaker Pro, and have familiarity with spreadsheets (such as Excel), statistical testing software (such as SPSS) or programming, and MS Office Suite. Applicant will also use recording equipment such as audio and video digital recorders; eye-tracker camera, and MRI equipment. Must know, use, and/or learn any and all specialized materials, equipment, and software needed to support effective and efficient performance in position.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds. Requires picking up infants and toddlers. Laboratory environment. Relevant safety procedures. Adherence to relevant policies and regulations required.
