Specifications Development Manager - Construction Systems (1901354) – Shakopee, MN
Where the Chemistry Happens
The Specifications Development Manager for Construction Systems is the owner and main point of contact for specifications within the Construction Systems (CS) business. Key responsibilities include: Leading the specifications strategy for all CS Product Segments and Market Sectors. This position requires coordinating cross functionally with MasterSpec and our Building Solutions Team to engage the CS sales force with actionable market intelligence. Managing direct reports and software systems to ensure our resources are deployed in an optimal way to drive growth.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
Preferred to have a Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent construction industry experience.
Experience working with architects and engineers.
Comfortable using large sets of data and CRM software.
Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills to effectively handle relationships and to lead multi-functional units, departments, and staff to achieve or exceed performance objectives.
Departmental/functional planning, management, budgeting, and reporting skills.
Lead the specifications strategy for all CS Product Segments and Market Sectors.
Recognize the different regional needs that exist across geographies in North America and deploy resources effectively.
Cooperate with sector management, product management, sales/technical leadership, marketing communications, and departments in other businesses within the Construction Chemicals business unit to develop go-to-market approaches that recognize the unique attributes of the various business lines within CS.
M anage the specification life cycle process for the CS business.
Monitor and establish metrics as needed in order to measure process performance and ultimate impact.
Work with external partners and manage projects to develop and enhance digital tools.
Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. Encourage creativity and risk-taking.
Oversee the Architectural Sales Team to increase the specifications presence for CS products using digital processes.
