The Senior Director of Donor Relations and Board Engagement is responsible for the strategic management, engagement and fundraising outcomes for the highest-level volunteers, donors and prospective donors of Georgetown University worldwide. The Senior Director's duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee the management of the Board of Regents, the stewardship of top donors, and regional engagement of top prospective donors, including international. Efforts with these groups led by the Senior Director will help to promote and increase financial investments in the university's top fundraising priorities.
Provide coordination and direction for internal stakeholders on these efforts. This position is at the intersection of five streams of work (Donor Relations, Board of Regents, Presidential Liaison, Strategic Global Engagement and Development) at the center of Advancement's charge to financially support Georgetown's operations, growth, and future.
Partner with cross-campus leaders to shape, manage, and execute the university's global engagement strategy for Advancement.
Partner with Advancement's International Development and Prospect & Campaign Management teams to coordinate, track, communicate, and deliver engagement strategies for new as well as developed international markets to yield major, principal, and transformative-level gifts.
Practical Experience (years needed and type required): 7 to 10 years in the field of higher education development; experience with Presidential level prospects and campaign management is a strong plus.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Demonstrated success with leading and managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Extraordinary organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow through
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
Desire to work in a higher education environment and familiarity with navigating the landscape
Experience working with of Salesforce
Confidence in decision-making
Ability to think critically and identify potential issues before they arise
Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
Professional demeanor, interpersonal skills, relates easily to a wide range of groups.
