Salary Range: CSU Salary Range: $3,115 - $5,475 per month (Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,200 - $5,000 per month)
The incumbent in this position is a member of the University Housing team. In conjunction with the AVP/Executive Director, Senior Associate Director, Associate Directors and other managers, staff, and students, this position assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of University Housing and is responsible for supporting and contributing to a positive atmosphere that facilitates respect, inclusivity and collaboration.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Planning and Support Services (PSS), the Office Coordinator is responsible for a variety of complex, administrative and specialized office functions and serves as a member of the Planning and Support Services team, sharing responsibility for serving an on-campus housing program.
This position provides full administrative support to the PSS staff, supports PSS functions, such as building operations, work order review, coordination, reconciliation, training, project management support, leadership, winter break and summer housing, special event coordination and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent. Type 45 wpm. Five years of general office support experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience).

Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
Proficiency in identifying, outlining, initiating, and coordinating multiple activities simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment in order to accomplish large scale, complex projects.
Ability to effectively make independent decisions on day-to-day operations of programs, with a particular emphasis on interpreting and applying specialized policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines with frequent interruptions and with the ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated customer service skill, including a high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications within a diverse population, strong listening and interpretive skills, and the ability to deal positively with unexpected developments and diverse perspectives in and outside the University.
Ability to maintain high quality/standards of work, ethics, commitment, and professional responsibility.
Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Demonstrated ability to effectively write reports at an advanced level.

Demonstrated skills in a work order software solution and/or database implementation and training.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Email and calendaring system.
Ability to update websites, develop newsletters, electronic and hard copy fliers and publications on a variety of topics.

Ability to split time between multiple working locations, moving from one assignment to another as the need arises.
Ability to work in a high traffic areas and maintain a high tolerance for frequent interruptions and distractions.
Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work overtime, occasional holidays, and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background/fingerprint check.

Retired CalPERS members selected for this vacancy must request and be approved for reinstatement from retirement prior to the start date.
