We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
In this role, the Financial Analyst (FA) will report to the Business Manager and will assist the Research Division team. The FA will be responsible for the monitoring and review of all financial activities and grants management oversight. This includes, but is not limited to, sponsored projects management, preparation and distribution of financial portfolios for investigators, effort review and reporting, budget and subcontract preparation and set up, preparation and closeout of grant accounts. The FA will also be responsible for monthly reporting and ad-hoc projects.
Prepares financial portfolios for investigators (financial summary and detailed financial statements with projections).
Performs regular reconciliation of grant accounts.
Prepares analysis of research spending and makes appropriate recommendations.
Meets monthly with Principal Investigators regarding grant account status.
Acts as liaison between the Department and Central Research Finance team, Central Grants Office and sponsors.
Prepares financial reporting and closeout packages.
Maintains a fiscal calendar of upcoming deadlines for financial reports.
Provides assistance to the Research Division team and Business Manager.
Assists in process improvements and implementation of new business plans and efficiencies to overall Grant Management process.
Assists with special projects as needed.
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in business, finance or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant financial and/or grants management experience; or a combination of comparable education and experience. Excellent Microsoft Office knowledge is required.
The Financial Analyst should have a comprehensive understanding of research administration with in-depth knowledge of Uniform Guidance and other research regulatory requirements, specifically the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.
