Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy in External Relations and Development, the Digital Product Manager works with the Strategic Communications team and constituent areas of Columbia Business School to manage the School's portfolio of websites. Focusing on the implementation of the 3-year design and deployment of the new website, the incumbent will play a key role in the development and oversight of the entire lifecycle of the development of new websites for special initiatives at the School, while managing the day-to-day maintenance of the current sites until the migration is completed.
The incumbent ensures that the content used across the Columbia Business School Website is clear, compelling, adequately distributed across the various pages and tailored to the School's target audiences, and most importantly adheres to a consistent brand philosophy.
Serve as the point person for digital communications around the School and proactively work to identify and implement improvements to digital communications products and processes.
Train and assist users across the School in using and maintaining the new School website. Work with partners across various departments at the School, to gather and develop requirements and specifications for new features.
Work with site editors across the School to identify opportunities to improve workflows, develop functional requirements documentation and implementation plans. Oversee the work of the University's CUIT group and external vendors to ensure that features meet user acceptance criteria and support the School's priorities.
Assist site editors across the School in making content updates and perform routine maintenance. Train users of different technical abilities on our systems and basic web technologies, including HTML. Create and maintain training documents for website administrators, emphasizing best practices.
In concert with the School's Graphic Designer and outside vendors, establish the look and feel for digital properties supporting special initiatives at the School, including event sites, reports, giving campaigns, and other brochureware. Oversee the build of these sites from inception to final implementation in partnership with the university's IT group and/or external vendors.
Assist the Digital Content Strategist in the content audit process, editing, removing and restructuring content within the school's current website portfolio to prepare it for ultimate migration to new systems.
Perform related special projects as necessary to further the School's online identity and brand messaging.
Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years related experience required.
Understanding of Drupal, HTML e-mail and appropriate frameworks, including Foundation. Interest in graphic design and editorial.
