Essex County College invites applications to teach courses related to electrical engineering, electrical technology, and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate must possess versatility to teach in multiple areas of electrical technology, ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively, and have interpersonal skills to engage students from a variety of social and educational backgrounds in classroom and laboratory settings. The candidate must have knowledge of a multitude of subjects related to electrical engineering/technology.
Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in electrical engineering OR a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a Master’s degree in a related field.
Must demonstrate ability to teach technical subject matter at the appropriate student level.
Must have experience with technology areas such as microprocessors, electromechanical components, motors, generators, and energy and system simulation applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Finalists will be required to provide official college transcripts.
Industry experience in either electrical engineering, or electrical technology, or electromechanical systems.
Experience with Programmable Logical Controllers and/or hardware language.
Project management and/or grant writing experience.
Minimum of two years teaching experience required, preferably at the college level
Five to ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
