As a Cardiology PACS Administrator the individual would beresponsible for, but not necessarily limited to, performing the applications,systems, and administrative support of the Cardiology PACS system along withother affiliated applications/systems as appropriate for VUMC and affiliatedclinics. The position would also supportHealthIT with other enterprise imaging initiatives.
Key Functionsand Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the 24x7 stability,integrity, user experience, and overall performance of the PACS systems toinclude associated application, devices and modalities that integrate with thePACS system.
Ability to configure and troubleshoot modalitiesand associated 3rd party applications with the PACS systems such asconfiguring network configuration, modality worklist, and DICOM configurations.
Utilizing both clinical and technical skillsets,the position would be responsible for developing, maintaining, troubleshootingas well as seeking opportunities to enhance clinical imaging workflows incollaboration with clinical operations.
Must be willing to serve as a liaison betweenclinicians, vendors, and other IT teams utilizing strong professionalcommunication, collaboration, clinical, and technical skills.
Mustbe willing to serve as an escalation contact including assisting the team inproviding immediate engagement of support issues related to the PACS. As the PACS system is utilized 24x7,candidate must be willing to provide after-hours on-call support as required bythe department including weekends and holidays.
Mustremain current with industry imaging knowledge especially in relation to PACSand associated new trends and technologies and be able provide leadership withguidance in acquiring and implementing enhancements to the infrastructure aswell as investments in new technologies remaining in alignment with clinicalgoals.
Mustbe willing to be responsible for creating, configuring, and maintaining PACSsystem reports for purposes of daily PACS monitoring, audit reports, accessusage, modality inventory, etc.
Positionwould be responsible for developing, configuring, and maintaining with other ITteams and clinicians, diagnostic workstations for the PACS system to includedeveloping and maintaining appropriate related documentation such asinstallation, troubleshooting, and inventory.
Positionrequires project management skillsets with the abilities to plan and successfullyexecute projects related to the PACS system including new deployments,upgrades, and clinical expansion.
Must have the abilities andexperience to coordinate with the PACS vendor to oversee all new or existingDICOM migrations from various archiving systems across VUMC.
Responsiblefor training clinical end users on PACS. The position would be responsible for develop online training coursesand as well as the ability to facilitate in-person structured learningexperiences.
Analyzesclinical or operational workflows supported by the assigned products and theirrelationship to the technical environment in which they operate.
Mayperform analysis and design of supporting technical infrastructures.
Supportsclinical, revenue, or operational implementations for assigned products whichmay also include testing and QA, reporting, product life cycle,communication/collaboration with customers and vendors, and training users.

PreferredSkills and Accomplishments
CIIP, CDIP, CPSA and/or CPAS certification orhave the equivalent years of direct PACS administrative imaging experience(Preferred)
IT certifications in Windows or Linuxadministration or other related information technologies (Preferred)
Hands-on-experiencewith implementation, maintaining as well as troubleshooting imaging workflows(clinical and/or technical) including considerable knowledge for common imagingrelated imaging exams and clinical procedures (such as past work experience asa Cardiology or Radiology technologist).
Projectmanagement experience for Radiology or Cardiology projects such as implementinga new application system or performing and upgrading to an existing applicationsystem.
Expertisewith all aspects of the DICOM standard.
Expertisewith configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting imaging modalities asapplicable to the PACS system and related imaging workflows.
CVISor RIS experience (such as Epic Cupid or Radiant).
HIS/EHRexperience (such as Epic).
HL7interfacing experience including maintenance and troubleshooting.
VoiceDictation Application experience (such as PowerScribe360).
Proficientin Microsoft Office applications include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
