The Department of Radiology is a major clinical, academic and service department of the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and Northwest Hospital. Serving a wide variety of patients and care acuity, the Department is an essential service within UW Medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. This includes operations in 7 sites of practice and close partnerships throughout the UW Medicine system. UW Medicine/Northwest Hospital Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift Senior Computer Specialist.The Senior Computer Specialist reports to the Site Manager for Imaging Informatics in the department of Radiology. The Senior Computer Specialist will implement GE RIS, PACS, PowerScribe 360, lifeIMAGE, ViewPoint and other associated technologies in the department, including Harborview, Northwest Hospital and UWMC Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, UWMC Roosevelt, the Eastside Clinic, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) and all affiliated clinics. They will perform user training, software installation and testing, and work with operational personnel to match technical assets with the requirements of the user community. The Senior Computer Specialist is responsible for leading large projects requiring a broad knowledge of all aspects of departmental operations. The Senior Computer Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting a wide variety of problems, and will escalate issues appropriately to the right group, whether internal or an external to the organization. They will promote an environment of Customer Service, in which the customer may be any number of individuals or groups both within and external to the Department of Radiology. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:Troubleshoots application problems in a methodical way and reports results appropriately. Triages hardware, network and software problems; identifying the probable problem area and seeks assistance from the correct group for follow-up as necessary. Trains system users including clinical, support and administrative staff in use of application software. Helps form and manage user project teams to meet stated deadlines. Configures, tests, and installs software. Creates and follows formal test plans, documenting results. Possesses excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills. Remains calm in difficult and stressful situations. Handles difficult customers in a professional manner. Able to manage and plan steps to complete system implementations or upgrades, using internal and external resources and tools. Good time management habits and a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.Requires minimal supervision/support. Willing to perform other related duties as assigned. TYPICAL WORK:Enterprise Urgent Call line coverage during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Managing Remedy and SDM tickets for the RADIT group.Rounding with Radiology system users as needed.Database cleanup -Patient Merges in RIS, PACS and PS360, RIS Exceptions, Fax Errors.Documentation - Create/Update/Organize Radiology workflow documents, Radiology System Support/Troubleshooting documents.Training Users - Onboarding new Residents, Fellows, Attendings, and other Radiology staff members.System Administrator to Radiology systems (RIS, PACS, PS360).Projects - Participate, plan, collaborate with other areas, report and complete project tasks on time.On-call rotation - Participates in the NW RADIT off hour call rotation one week every 10-16 weeks. Call Includes night, weekend and holiday support, mostly over the phone. When on-call, on site support is sometimes required. Radiology IT support experience of 3 or more years. Direct user support in a healthcare environment.Formal project management document creation and tracking experience. Participation in formally managed projects. Desired Skills:CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) certification. Radiology Technician.
