Nemours Children’s Health Care System is recruiting a full-time Continuous Improvement Specialist I in Wilmington, DE. The Continuous Improvement Specialist I provides continuous improvement support to Nemours by functioning as an analyst, facilitator, consultant and/or project manager as required.
The Continuous Improvement Specialist I will work throughout the system with a broad range of stakeholder groups in clinical, operational and enterprise systems areas.
Learns to facilitate, guide and support enterprise, departmental, or cross-departmental continuous improvement work as directed by executive leadership. This encompasses preparation and planning for workshops and value stream/model lines, implementation, and periodic audits of the work completed.
Develops, maintains, and revises work plans for the continuous improvement work to be done. Monitors outcomes. Integrates work with other departmental initiatives and revises as needed.
Contributes to the development of standard work.
Researches and identifies relative benchmarks to be used in the establishment of daily management measures to ensure compliance with standard work.
Assists Nemours leadership to develop proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies and approaches. Learns to serve as an educational resource and consultant.
Uses knowledge of waste elimination tools and techniques to identify clinical and operational opportunities for improvement.
Assists in the development and refinement of Continuous Improvement training programs and materials.
Develops mastery of Continuous Improvement standards and methodologies.
Develops the ability to challenge the status-quo and encourage break-through thinking to ensure Continuous Improvement principles are implemented.
Completes additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Knowledge of lean management systems, tools, and methodologies through reading or courses.
