The Associate Director of International Enrollment will represent the University to recruit prospective international undergraduate and graduate students, specifically in the countries of China, Nigeria, Vietnam, and Nepal. S/he will be responsible for guiding prospective international students through the admissions process from initial contact through the students’ enrollment at the University. In orderto achieve this goal, s/he will be required to utilize admissions counseling skills, understand higher education and enrollment management, be sensitive to student and family-service needs, and be prepared to apply relevant policies reflective of the University mission and strategic plans. This position requires extensive travel in China and other countries up to 7 months each year. Strong interpersonal, organization, communication, and presentation skills are required. The successful candidate must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and will have a basic understanding and ability to manage international culture, and diverse educational backgrounds.

Work with Supervisor to conceptualize and implement strategic initiatives that are of critical importance to meeting the enrollment goals of the University.
Build a fall and spring travel schedule and assist in all recruitment related events both on and off campus.
Establish and maintain well-documented policy and procedural manuals. Communicate updates and changes as required.
Maintain record storage and retrieval systems for efficient access to data. Manage recruitment data and analyzes for results and trends.
Participate in on and off campus and international recruitment activities including graduate fairs, university fairs, student receptions, and international agent programs.
The candidate will have an excellent ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively. S/he will communicate extensively and regularly with international prospects during the admission process; through electronic communication efforts, phone calls and webinars, and other forms of both traditional and new media.
Ensure the accuracy of information on the International Admissions portion of the University website.
Understand and apply University policy and protocols to enrollment activities; have an ability to explain and effectively counsel students on these policies and protocols.
Support leadership with execution of partnership agreements; assist with identifying potential new partnerships.
Assist new international student enrollment including partnering with Director of International Services Office and executing International Student Orientation.
Track applications received from agents and non-agents and other organizations and ensure they coded correctly in the CRM.
Visit high schools and universities to promote the university, increase inquiries, and develop more strategic partnerships and memorandums of understandings for various programs.
3-5 years of work experience in higher education preferred.
Ability to represent the University of New Haven in a variety of situations and be able to competently interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of prospective students, faculty and staff.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Strong customer service orientation and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products required; Sungard Banner Experience preferred; CRM system experience required, preferably with Slate and/or TargetX.
A familiarity with immigration procedures and SEVIS, and experience evaluating foreign educational credentials are necessary.
Must have the ability to work evenings and weekend events and travel extensively for recruitment.
Must be willing to spend extensive time in China with Nigeria, Nepal, and Vietnam as secondary territories.
