The AAID Foundation seeks an experienced fundraising professional to manage its activities.
The Foundation was started in 1982 with a mission to further the science of oral implantology through research and education and to support the delivery of implant care through humanitarian efforts. The AAID Foundation, is a 501(c)(3) public charity that awards grants each year to dental students and those in post-graduate and residency programs.
The director will work with the AAID leadership team and the foundation board to grow the foundation’s philanthropic and fundraising initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
At least 5 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience
Ability to facilitate, supervise and coach staff, board and volunteer teams
Experience with program development and management and special events
Persuasive and clear oral and written communications skills
Familiarity with financial statements and record keeping
Excellent technical skills including familiarity with databases and website and social media management
Facilitates the activities of the board and its committees
In coordination with the board and executive leadership develops:
A strategic plan
Annual fundraising, philanthropic and programmatic goals
Case for Support
Manual of operations
Develops and oversees fundraising and philanthropic policies and procedures such as:
Gift acceptance policy
Grant review process
Conflict of interest statement
Manages fundraising database and records and grant disbursement activities
In coordination with CFO, prepares for annual audit
In coordination with CFO, develops and oversees the annual budget
Develops and oversees both annual and special fundraising initiatives to meet revenue goals
Manages strategy for the foundation board, committees and development staff
With appropriate volunteers and staff, Identifies, cultivates and solicits both member and corporate gifts
Organizes fundraising teams and oversees solicitation process
Analyzes campaign potential/progress and prepares reports for staff and board
Prepares donor/prospect summaries for volunteers
Works with Director, Corporate Relations, to identify new donors and expand silent auction opportunities
Manages the annual research grant awards program
Manages humanitarian programs
Wish a Smile and new program, Smile, Veteran!
Identifies new programming when appropriate
Meetings and Special Events
Manages the annual silent auction and other events at the annual conference
Organizes and oversees meetings for the Board, Nominating Committee and Isaih Lew Award Committee
Provides content to marketing staff to promote upcoming events
Maintains website and coordinates with third-party vendor to update activity
Manages social media platforms
Develops and oversees the preparation of acknowledgement letters, stewardship reports and other correspondence and documentation
Develops new communications media when appropriate
Represents the foundation with other professional organizations such as the Dental Philanthropy Network, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association Foundation Group, Association Forum, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Overnight travel and evening and weekend availability are required.
